Board Election

An election of members to the Board of Directors of the Arts Council is approaching.  As plans are finalized, details will be available on our home page at SPRArts.org.  Nominations can be made in March with the election in April.  If you, or someone you know, wants to join a vibrant group supporting all art forms in Cochise County, consider making a nomination.

And if you are a member of the Arts Council, don’t forget our members' meeting on April 5.

St. David Art Club

Shryl Miles, a watercolorist and Arts Council board member, completed four sessions on watercolors with the St. David Art Club on February 9.

The first session was a presentation by Shryl of some of her work and a discussion on a few basic watercolor techniques.  The second session was a demonstration by Shryl.  The third and fourth sessions were devoted to the Art Club members getting hands on experience.  The photomontage is of the Art Club members working on their watercolor painting with Shryl standing by to offer encouragement and answer questions.

The eight students in last two sessions enjoyed themselves and some amazing work came out of the exercise, especially considering this was their first attempt.  The Art Club and the Arts Council appreciates the time Shryl devoted to the watercolor workshop.

The next workshop is on the oil medium led by Lisa Gallloway-Sprietsma beginning February 28.
