Stacy Family Art Exhibit

The San Pedro River Arts Council is proud to announce a new exhibit at the Benson City Hall Gallery featuring the works of Harry and Linda Stacy.  The couple’s granddaughter Cameron will also have one of her works displayed.

The Stacys settled in the Benson area in 1967.  Harry worked as an electrical engineer at Ft. Huachuca, but retired in 2000.  He took art classes at Cochise Community College for about 3½ years with watercolor as his media of choice bur now works in acrylics.  Harry is cultivating an Impressionistic expression in his art.

Linda Stacy’s background includes degrees in English and Anthropology/Archeology.  She began painting bout 4 years ago and still enjoys taking classes.  She employs a fairly realistic style to portray wildlife and landscapes, using acrylics.  Linda’s mantra is “Keep it simple; keep it loose.”

An award-winning artist at the age of 9, Cameron, who lives in Nashville, TN, has had her work recognized in 2 competitions there.  During a 3-week visit with her grandparents, they introduced her to acrylics, gouaches, palette knives and the concept of abstraction, among other things.

This exciting exhibit will be open from September through October.  The City Hall Gallery, located at 120 W. 6th Street, Benson, will be open during Council activities or by calling the City Clerk’s office at (520) 720-6331.
