Tragedy in Tucson

Like all Americans, but especially Arizonans, we grieve with the families of those who lost their lives in the shooting at the "Congress on the Corner" event last Saturday in Tucson. Regardless of your political affiliation, this awful event has robbed all of us of our feelings that "it can't happen here." Gabrielle Giffords is our representative, and we feel in her wounding, our own loss. She will take many months or years to recuperate. No one knows for sure if she will be able to attain her former functions. She has been a staunch supporter of the arts. We can only hope that her complete recovery will be the miracle that we all hope for. The San Pedro River Arts Council sends her family our prayers and best wishes.
